Web designer with Css for Web 2.0 Design role to £28k (Date accessed 14/01/10)

You will be working on our search engine designing both the graphical user interface as well as other various pages within the site. You ideas and creativity will be valued. Each page you design is viewed thousands of times so getting it right is more important than doing it quickly.

We are obsessed with clear presentation and usability. If you want to learn about (or practise) developing effective human computer interfaces ( HCI ) then this will be a very interesting role for you.

Salary: £24K to £28k

Skills Required

* Very good knowledge of HTML
* Very good knowledge of CSS
* Knowledge of Photoshop or similar
* JavaScript / jQuery knowledge not essential, but a bonus
* Experience in using Visual Studio not essential, but a bonus


The company has about 12 UK employees and we are based in Mayfair, London.
We do some web design work for our clients but primarily your role will be to work on our internal project - which is www.stockinthechannel.com. To assist and work along side you we have one other UK web designer and two based in Argentina. You will be replacing an existing designer who is off to travel the world for a couple of years.

An exciting project is coming up that will require a through knowledge of CSS. This involves designing a stylesheet that the users can configure to change the appearance of the interface that they and their staff use.

Immediate start. You will need to have had previous experience of commercial web design.

I found this job advert on gumtree thought I'd post the description incase it get taken off the site. From what I can see about the application they want your standard CV however they have included an attachment box so the potential employee could attach additional work if required.

Media Force - graduates


Ok its not exactly what our degree is about but it maybe of some interest to some people. From looking at the website its a recruitment agency for people wanting to go into marketing and events planning. I thought it looked very interesting so its going on the blog.

Who knows it maybe interesting to someone else.
